About Jan Dowell, MS, MHS, RDN, CSSD and
Everyday Sports Nutrition for Women

It's all about sports nutrition. Jan Dowell approaches sports nutrition as both a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist and ACE-Certified Personal Trainer. The passion started as a senior honors project as a Dietetic major at Olivet Nazarene University. After completing a Masters degree in Health Education/Health Promotion from Governors State University, a Masters degree in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Membership in the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association, a Personal Trainer Certification, and over twenty-five years of work experience in nutrition and fitness, Jan now brings her passion to life in the Chicago area. Her expertise in sports nutrition has been verified with the credential as "Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics" (CSSD).

Jan serves on the Speakers Bureau for the Chicago Area Runners Association, and is a frequent speaker for local running and community groups. She currently teaches both graduate and undergraduate sports nutrition courses at two Chicago area colleges.

Having completed various sports performance events, including twelve marathons, the Danskin sprint-triathlon, and the Madison to Chicago 200 Mile Relay (MC200), Jan blends personal experience with the latest research on how to optimize sports performance and lifetime fitness through nutrition.

Everyday-Sports-Nutrition-for-Women.com is not for ordinary women. Rather “everyday” reaches out to women who desire to get more out of life through common sense and consistent pursuit of better health and sports performance. Jan has designed this site to support your goals and encourage you on your path!
